## The TL;DR

* We collect the data we need to run Knowasiak. That's it.
* We do **not** sell your personal data.
* We may use your data to train and improve Kradar and KlangAI for internal Knowasiak purposes.
* We do **not** use your data to train external AI platforms outside Knowasiak without your consent (except where required by law).
* You can access, fix, export, or delete your data anytime in [Settings](https://www.knowasiak.com/settings).
* You're covered by GDPR (EU/UK), DPDP 2023 (India), and CCPA/CPRA (California). Our rules apply globally.

## 1. Who is responsible for your data

The data controller (GDPR) / data fiduciary (DPDP) / business (CCPA) is Knowasiak, Inc., a Delaware C-Corporation operating [knowasiak.com](https://www.knowasiak.com) and related services.

## 2. What we collect

### 2.1 You give us

* **Account info:** name, username, email, password (hashed), date of birth, profile photo, bio.
* **Content:** posts, comments, swifts, messages, marketplace listings, uploaded media.
* **Marketplace info:** listings, orders, shipping addresses, and payout-related details where payout programs are enabled under applicable law or program rules.
* **Settings & preferences:** notification settings, language, privacy choices, blocked users.
* **Support correspondence:** emails and reports you send us.

### 2.2 We collect automatically

* **Device & technical data:** IP address, device type, OS, browser, app version, language, timezone.
* **Usage data:** pages viewed, posts seen and liked, search queries, session duration, features used.
* **Log data:** request timestamps, error logs, security events.

### 2.3 From third parties

* **Social/OAuth login** (Google, etc.) — basic profile info you authorize.
* **Payment processors** (Razorpay) — transaction status, last-4 of card, no full card numbers.
* **Anti-abuse providers** — risk signals to prevent fraud.

We do **not** knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.

## 3. Why we use it (purposes & legal bases)

TL;DR Each piece of data has a specific purpose. We don't collect "just in case".

"Legitimate interests" means we balance our interest against your privacy. You can object — see §7.

## 4. Who we share data with

We do not sell personal data. We share it only with:

* **Service providers** (processors) under contract: hosting (cloud infra), email delivery, payment processing (Razorpay), error monitoring, anti-abuse vendors. They can only use your data to do their job for us.
* **Other users** — whatever you choose to make public (posts, profile) is visible to other users and may be indexed by search engines, bots, crawlers, and AI agents.
* **Buyers/sellers** in marketplace transactions — the minimum needed to fulfill the order (e.g., shipping address to seller).
* **Authorities** when legally required: valid court orders, subpoenas, regulatory demands. We push back on overbroad requests.
* **Successors** in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale — with notice to you and the same protections continuing.

We do not share your personal data or content with external platforms for training their AI models without your consent, except where required by law.

## 5. AI & automated decision-making

TL;DR Kradar and KlangAI may be trained on platform data for internal Knowasiak features. We do not allow external platform training without consent.

We use machine learning and AI systems (including Kradar and KlangAI) to rank your feed, recommend people and startups, surface trending content, detect spam and abuse, improve search, and improve internal product quality.

We may train and improve these internal Knowasiak systems using account activity, content, safety signals, and interaction data.

We do **not** provide your data to external AI platforms outside Knowasiak for training without your consent, except where required by law. If we materially change this practice, we will provide clear notice and request any legally required consent.

Where automated decisions have legal or similarly significant effects (e.g., automated account suspension), you can request human review through the [Contact form](https://www.knowasiak.com/faqs#contact) or by emailing [support@knowasiak.com](mailto:support@knowasiak.com).

## 6. How long we keep it

* **Account & profile:** while your account is open. After account deletion: removed within 30 days.
* **Posts & content:** until you delete them or your account; backups purged within 30 days of deletion.
* **Messages:** until deleted by either participant or account closure; backups purged within 30 days.
* **Marketplace records:** kept for 7 years after the transaction for tax, accounting, and consumer-dispute purposes (regulatory minimum).
* **Logs & security data:** 90 days, except records of confirmed abuse which we retain longer to enforce against repeat offenders.
* **Backups:** standard 30-day rolling window.
* **Legal holds:** data subject to a pending dispute, investigation, or legal hold is retained until the matter is resolved.

## 7. Your rights

TL;DR Access, fix, export, delete — mostly in-app, no waiting on us.

Depending on where you live, you have some or all of these rights:

* **Access** a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
* **Correct** inaccurate data.
* **Delete** your data ("right to be forgotten").
* **Port** your data in a machine-readable format.
* **Object** to processing based on legitimate interests.
* **Restrict** processing in certain situations.
* **Withdraw consent** where processing is based on consent.
* **Opt out of "sale" or "sharing"** (CCPA) — we don't do either, but the opt-out is available.
* **Non-discrimination** — we won't penalize you for exercising any of these rights.
* **Lodge a complaint** with your data protection authority (e.g., your EU DPA, UK ICO, India DPB, California AG).

## 8. International data transfers

Knowasiak operates from the United States and India. If you're outside these countries, your data will be transferred and stored there (and in our processors' regions). We use appropriate safeguards: Standard Contractual Clauses (EU), the UK IDTA, and equivalent mechanisms for other jurisdictions.

## 9. Security

We take security seriously: TLS in transit, encrypted backups, principle-of-least-privilege access, password hashing, rate limiting, monitoring for anomalous activity, and regular reviews. No system is 100% secure; if you suspect a breach of your account, contact [support@knowasiak.com](mailto:support@knowasiak.com).

If a breach affects your personal data, we'll notify you and the relevant authorities within the timeframes required by applicable law (e.g., GDPR's 72-hour rule).

## 10. Children

Knowasiak is for users 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you're a parent or guardian and believe your child has given us data, submit the [Contact form](https://www.knowasiak.com/faqs#contact) or email [support@knowasiak.com](mailto:support@knowasiak.com) and we'll delete the account.

## 12. Region-specific notes

### 12.1 California (CCPA / CPRA)

Categories collected in the last 12 months: identifiers, customer records, commercial information, internet activity, geolocation (approximate, IP-based), inferences. We do **not** sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. You have the right to know, delete, correct, opt out, limit use of sensitive info, and not be retaliated against.

### 12.2 EU/EEA, UK (GDPR / UK GDPR)

Lawful bases per §3. Recipients per §4. Transfers per §8. You have the right to lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority. Our EU/UK representative will be appointed and listed here when required.

### 12.3 India (DPDP Act 2023)

We act as a Data Fiduciary. Children (under 18) are not knowingly served. For DPO/privacy requests, use the [Contact form](https://www.knowasiak.com/faqs#contact) or email [support@knowasiak.com](mailto:support@knowasiak.com). You can lodge complaints with the Data Protection Board of India.

## 13. Changes to this policy

If we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date and notify you in-app or by email. Continuing to use the Service after the change means you accept the updated policy.
