Cairo, January 2026 — Egypt is rapidly positioning itself at the forefront of the Middle East and North Africa's sustainable plastics transition. As the Official Knowledge Partner at PLASTEX 2026 – Egypt's Strategic Conference, held from January 9–12 in Cairo, Coherent Market Insights (CMI) presented its latest research examining the future of sustainable plastics across MENA.

The findings emphasized that while demand for recycled plastics continues to strengthen, long-term market success will depend on scaling recycling infrastructure and improving feedstock quality.
On January 10, Raj Shah, CEO & Founder of Coherent Market Insights, moderated the panel discussion, "Accelerating Demand and Adoption of Recycled Plastics," where industry leaders explored practical solutions to strengthen recycling ecosystems and advance the region's circular economy ambitions.

"Egypt has many of the ingredients required to become a regional leader in sustainable plastics," said Shah. "However, transforming plastic waste into a valuable industrial resource requires continued investment in collection systems, processing facilities, and high-quality recycling infrastructure. Strengthening these foundations will determine how quickly the market can capitalize on growing demand."
